Kuala Lumpur eased to an innings victory over Sabah. Playing at the KTJ Oval, Kuala Lumpur won the toss and elected to field first and got Sabah all out for paltry score of 70 runs off 28.3 overs. Only Jalal G. Karim with  Qayyum Khan had double figures of 15  and 12 runs for Sarawak. Neville Liyanage took 5 wickets for 31 runs off 10 overs. Pavandeep Singh together with Hafiz Khair took 2 for 7 and 13 runs respectively.

Kula Lumpur put up 256 in their 1st innings for 3 off 32 overs when they declared. Their total came from Syed Aziz Mubarak 79 off 52 balls, Anwar Aruddin 55 off 39,  skipper Virandeep Singh 53 off 53 balls, Imam Jawafer 43 not out off 15 balls and Fikri Makram Rosdi 21 runs.

Sabah in their 2nd innings fared even badly as they were all out for 59 runs off 22.2 overs giving victory to Kuala Lumpur by an innings and 127 runs. This time around Pavandeep Singh took 5 wickets for 10 off 6.2 overs while Neville, Syed Aziz took 2 wickets each for 10 and 12 runs. With this win Kuala Lumpur tops the point table in Group B.


In the Group A match played at the Kinrara Oval, Sarawak on winning the toss elected to field first. Selangor scored a total of 217 off 67.5 overs. Norwira Zazmie Abd. Halim top scored with 76 while the others who contributed were Shajan Salim 44, Kogilan Muthu 29 not out, Derek Michael 23, Harinder Singh Sekhon  14, Wafiq Irfan Zarbani 12 and Norhamisan Hamidon 11 runs. Syazrul Izzat Idrus together with Sheroz Muhammad took 2 wickets for 38 and 53 runs respectively.

Sarawak in their innings only could manage 122 runs batting for 51.1 overs. Suharril Fetri Shuib 35 runs, Shazrul Ezat Idrus 27, Ervin Kaik AK Irex 24 and Mahathir Razali 13 were the ones who contributed. Fitri Sham took 5 wickets for 32 off 13.1 over, while Wafiq Irfan Zarbani took 2 for 22 in his 7 overs spell.

In their 2nd innings, Selangor declared scoring 106 runs for 6 wickets off 30.3 overs. Their runs came from Harinder Sekhon 45 not out, Ainool Hafizs Mohd Yatim 32 and Derek Michael 18. Mior Mohamad Azri took 3 wickets for 18 runs off 5 overs spell. Suharril Fetri Shuib took 2 for 17 off 3.3 overs.

With 2 hours of play and a target of 201 for victory, Sarawak’s run chase stated off bad, as the lost their opener with no runs on the board, By the 12th over they were 4 wickets down for 36 runs. The 6th and 7th wickets partnership of 74 runs pushed their total to 114 when time was called for the day with the match ending in a draw.
