Gordon Greenidge, a legendary cricket player was recently in Malaysia to engage with cricket enthusiasts. On 9th May, he held a master class session with children at the Royal Selangor Club, Kiara and on 10th May he played in a T20 evening match at Kinrara Oval, and a dinner in his honour was held at the Royal Selangor Club Dataran Merdeka on 11th May. Although 9th May was also election day #MalaysiaMemilih, the master class was held in full swing from as early as 9am. As many as 32 children turned up to get cricket tips and training from the legend. Malaysian national women players were also there to absorb additional training.

The T20 friendly at Kinrara Oval started at 5pm and continued to play under lights. YAM Tunku Tan Sri Imran, Patron of MCA graced the event with his presence and joined in the dinner merriment.

The next event was a gala dinner at Royal Selangor Club Dataran Merdeka. The night’s agenda included an award presentation and a dialogue session with Gordon Greenidge.
All for a good cause, as proceeds will go to MyShiningStar Foundation and the Gordon Greenidge Primary School in Barbados. The event was organised by members of several cricket clubs in Malaysia, led by Mr Devindran Ramanathan and Mr Charlie Chelliah.
